Working Panama's International Park La Amistad

Every once in a while, our Volcan group is asked to help out neighboring towns
(This is about half the group meeting at our departure point at 7:15am, but I couldn't wait and had to start my way up, as my offroad vehicle only does 100 kms/hour. Plus, I know people here usually follow panama time :)
This was our meeting up there in Rio Sereno. The hall was nicely packed, with a great turnout. It also turns out that the bus was late, as they waited till the morning to fix a flat. This is common here - a local will tell you "I'll be right there, driving down the highway" which means, "I'll be there sometime today, likely in a few hours after I finish dinner at home and watch a show." Unless he's waiting to get paid.

But the views are worth the wait.
This is a small town just outside of the entrance to La Amistad. There are several entrances as the park is huge, taking up thousands of acres both in Panama and Costa Rica.
Everyone is excited to get going...
The Ngäby community was VERY curious, and they all wanted a ride.
La Amistad
The diversity in bugs never ceases to amaze me.

This is coffee harvest time. The woman and child are spreading the beans and mixing them so they can dry uniformly.
This tree is almost completely consumed by strangler fig vines, making the tree seem much bigger than it really is.
Still, it's impressive.

Surprisingly, it was all our older sisters who wanted rides. Of course, Amanda here is in no way old, but she started it so I include her in the group.
